  • Cessnock

    The largest town in the Hunter Valley, Cessnock is a great base for exploring Australia’s oldest wine region. It’s also home to family-friendly attractions like the Hunter Valley Wildlife Park, a craft brewery, a number of delicious restaurants and cosy cafes, and an acclaimed arts centre. 

  • Lovedale

    Famous for rolling vineyards, acclaimed family-owned wineries and the fabulous Long Lunch, Lovedale is a Hunter Valley gem. Perfect for a weekend escape or romantic getaway, there’s also adventure to be found, from horse riding to hot air ballooning, in the heart of Australia’s oldest wine region. 

  • Maitland

    There’s creativity on every corner in Maitland. Set halfway between Newcastle and the vineyards of the Hunter Valley, this charming town on the banks of the Hunter River has a rich history, emerging food scene, thriving arts community, boutique accommodation and packed events calendar. 

  • Morpeth

    Set on the banks of the Hunter River, Morpeth was once one of the country’s busiest river ports. Today, this picturesque town is known for its beautifully preserved historic buildings, stylish shopping and a buzzing dining scene. 

  • Pokolbin

    Welcome to the heart of the Hunter. Historic Pokolbin is home to some of Australia’s top wineries and cellar doors, award-winning restaurants, and the sprawling Hunter Valley Gardens. Plan your visit around one of the many events on the jam-packed calendar. 

  • Rothbury

  • Singleton

    Founded more than 200 years ago, Singleton sits on the northern edge of the Hunter Valley wine region. This pretty riverside town has many well-preserved historic buildings, museums and an impressive new arts centre, and is surrounded by bushland and national parks. 

  • Wollombi

    Once a major junction on the convict-built Great North Road, the historic village of Wollombi now moves at a slower pace. Stroll its well-preserved streets, enjoy lively festivals and visit tasty markets. Nearby are Australia’s oldest wine region and the World Heritage-listed Yengo National Park.
